ANSO, a non-profit, non-governmental international organization founded in 2018, collaborates with 37 scientific institutions, universities, and international organizations worldwide. Its primary mission is to enhance regional and global capacity in science and technology, improve human livelihoods, and promote broader science and technology cooperation and communication.

Each year, up to 40 PhD students from underdeveloped countries are selected by TWAS/UNESCO for the ANSO Scholarship in China for International Students. This program supports 200 Master’s students and 300 Ph.D. students for postgraduate education at prestigious institutions such as the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and There are lots of CAS institutes all over China.

Eligibility Requirements for ANSO Scholarship

To be eligible for the ANSO Scholarship in China for International Students, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant should be an international citizen
  • Proficiency in English or Chinese
  • For Master’s program: Born after January 1, 1993
  • For PhD program: Born after January 1, 1988
  • fulfill the requirements for admission to USTC/UCAS for international students.
  • Cannot undertake other assignments during the scholarship period
  • not presently attending any Chinese universities or institutes to get a master’s or doctorate
